Life of Animals in Japanese Art Exhibit + Finding Murikami

Hey naow kawaii creatives.
Hisashiburi ne ~
Wow! The last (intentional) museum visit was over six months ago with the comm. But couldn’t resist sharing pics from my July 4th visit to the Smithsonian’s Life of Animals in Japanese Art exhibit .

kawaii fashion
the dastardly kawaii duo

I’d say it was with a member of the comm.

But they’re not just ANY member. They’re my family!

The same monster (j/k, j/k) who said ‘you’re Lolita aren’t you’ when we met.

My non elitest but hood arse replied with ‘who sent’chu’ and that ish was met with ‘yup! we’re gonna be best friends`

And thus is the story of  ipukekawaii + Hikikonekkon

Since visiting from Boston for the month we’re spending quality time

Animal Art + Kimono Fashion

a wild Hikikonekkon in their natural habitat (fabrics, textiles & period fashion)

One of the biggest highlights (as J-fashionistas) was kimono.

And the best thing is we’re planning a light & easy kimono meet while they’re here ❤

it’s puppies (silly me was excited at first glance about cats >.<)

this thang was GOLD – the countryside and rooster

The fabrics and craftsmanship is always so rich and engulfing

I can’t remember but this reminds me of the sea

I’m always in awe of kimono and really want to learn more about dressing.

I’m no fan of winter. but I AM a fan of what I’d look like draped in it puahahaha

I have one though. But gotta learn to dress myself >.<

Guess I’ll really have to get my work permit to visit the UK. I need a kimono playdate with Tia of the fabulous Uber Dandy Kimono.

Found Murikami-Sama

Exhibit Highlights

Here’s more from the exhibit. It’s personal aesthetic I enjoy and a lot of imagery that fuels my tattoo style.

Tattoo Reference Book Haul + Wish List

I made a haul of tattoo + fashion reference books.

Tattoo to push my style + Fashion to push my looks.

Here’s two that have been on my list for a while now. And I don’t trust myself to buy them later. So I grabbed em haha

There are a few more books. But I’ll have to update my IG with the others from this haul.

But I re-added to my wishlist. Here’s what I have my sights set on so far … in order of NEED ❤

This ancestoral message was more than fitting for the 4th so I thought I’d share it with you for your book list ❤

Now Following

Hope you had fun on our playdate. If you want to see what my fam’s up to be sure to follow their adventures on Instagram.
